NAU Celebrates Constitution Day 2021

star-header

Constitution Day commemorates the September 17, 1787 signing of the United States Constitution. Each educational institution that receives Federal funds for a fiscal year is required to hold an educational program about the U.S. Constitution for its students.

But NAU’s commitment to teach about the US Constitution goes deeper than a requirement: It aligns with our mission as an institution of higher education and our NAU CORE Ability #4: Civic Responsibility.

This year, in an effort to fulfill this commitment, we are pleased to announce the General 188体育app_188体育在线-下载|官网 department’s integration of a US History and Constitution curricular element into a minimum of one course per General 188体育app_188体育在线-下载|官网 subject area. These courses include at least one activity that educates students on US History or the Constitution. Our goal is to instill in our students the interest and skills to perform their own research and think critically about these topics that are so vital to the social fabric of our country.

Starting in Fall 2021, NAU students will encounter US History and Constitution-related activities integrated into the following General 188体育app_188体育在线-下载|官网 courses:

  • SC1100 Environmental Science
  • SO1050 Introduction to Sociology
  • HU2000 Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

  • CS1301 Do the Numbers!
  • EN2100 Speech
  • MA1500 Intermediate Algebra
  • MA2000 Quantitative Reasoning
  • MA2050 College Algebra
